Marty Katon was born in Michigan and received a B.A. from Ursuline College in Ohio. For many years he has been a resident of Southern California, where he is a familiar figure in the arts community. Something of a Renaissance Man, he has had many life experiences. Today, his giclee prints after original works are available on the market. Such galleries as Merrill Chase in Chicago and Joe Wade in Santa Fe have carried his original pieces, which tend to feature Native American subjects, and animals.
Marty teaches traditional oil painting to children and teens in Santa Monica California. The students range from gifted to learning differences, yet all work together for the better good of all.
